Workshop Pysanka in the country of Caçador- SC (the ancient Ukrainian art in eggs)

The Ukrainian Community of Caçador-SC received on March 13th and 14th one of the “Pysanka – Ukrainian Crafts workshop, Brazil, Santa Catarina” (Bid Elizabeth Anderle Stimulus Culture – Cultural Foundation of Santa Catarina).

The curriculum was developed at the headquarters of SESC – Caçador, and people from diverse ethnic backgrounds took part. The class exceeded expectations, absorbing very content and developing great work. For Leoni Welicz (chairman of the community) the workshop was very important to arouse the interest of ethnic Ukrainian Caçador, who recently wasn’t widely known by local society. He also thanked the coordinators and Oksana Vilson Kotviski the choice of the city, even when dealing with an extreme and distant from other clusters of Ukrainian descent in Brazil.

The materials and expertise provided to the community through the project will be used as next week, during the celebrations of the city’s birthday, which will have a major event in Caçador’s Exhibition Park. On this site there is a beautiful village of ethnic groups, and the house will be offered to Ukrainian workshop pysanka visitors.
